was talking about the huge increase in pay for the ministers
(about 25% average) and the pittance for the civil serpents (about
3% to 5% if affected.. some get zero)
the guy kept harping on "those who live by the well will not die of
thirst"
i questioned that... asking if those living by the well were made
to pay for those who bought the well.. and made to pay a lot of
money.. they will die of thirst..
thing is, the poor deluded fella didn't even know what happened in
Bolivia where those who lived literally beside their own country's
water supplies were made to pay for their water by a water
company... they literally had to choose between eating or
drinking... they were literally dying of thirst while the water
flowed into the sea...
riots ensued.. a government was brought down... (source: PBS)
what is wrong, fix it...
what is right, do it..
benefits vs costs??
i'll give you benefits and costs...
the cost of not doing the right thing, is our humanity.. the
benefits, is so precious that mere dollars and cents cannot even
begin to start..
think about that...
we will not die of thirst if we live by the well... but if we allow
something like in Bolivia to happen, we might.. or we might lose
our very humanity to just exist, not live mind you.. but to merely
exist..
